I was invited by The Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development to join their exhibit about human rights. I, along with other Ang INK members, focused on the rights of the child. This painting is about Article 31, which says “That every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.”
Artworks from the exhibit were later turned into an educational activity book for kids called Karapat-dapat: Bata, alamin ang iyong mga karapatan! (Child, know your rights!), published by CANVAS. Each purchase of the book guarantees that two other children in CANVAS’ chosen communities will receive their very own copy of the book, for free. Learn more here.
